Warm Breeze From Galatia

But of course, in this troubled crazy world,
The solution is to be fruit-bearing,
Fruit that is ripe and not reeking
Of the rot and decay of the age or
The lust for instant gratification.
Spirit lifters may take some time.
Is is too much to ask for a modicum of
Love that reaches past angry words and feuds,
Joy in the fullness of life everywhere,
Peace beyond the understanding of us mortals,
Patience with the process of becoming,
Kindness even toward the unkind and mean,
Goodness in the face of oncoming evil,
Faithfulness to the truths that lift us from depths,
Gentleness that turns away vicious assaults,
And, when the final victory is at hand,
Self-control to stay the course and claim the prize?
