Somewhere over the years Big Media started moving away from calling their workers “reporters” and gravitated toward calling them “content producers.” I object, your honor.
Gathering and reporting the news of a community is more than just producing content. Content is something that fills a space. Journalism fills a need in its best sense. Content fills a box.
I’m not content to produce mere content. A good reporter wants to give readers something to inform them, something to ponder. The content producer just wants a full page.
