I go too long without words and music sometimes. Once turning on the radio or the stereo was as automatic for me as turning on the TV for some folks.
There are platters of music all over this house, a feast spanning decades and even centuries. Days and days of music are stored within these walls, forgotten heroes and familiar classics and everything in between, everything everywhere all at once to coin an expression. And, if I were ever to sit down and listen to it all, when I was done I could turn to the internet and find even more music.
If I was able to read every book in this house, I would still have read only a fraction of all the books ever written and waiting to be read. I love the verse in “Amazing Grace”: “When we’ve been there ten thousand years bright shining as the sun, we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise than when we’ve first begun.”
There is so much life to experience, this vessel will never get to it all, so we may as well relax and experience as much as possible between now and then.
What a lovely mood to be in!
