I call them the dontwannas — those feelings of dread that wash over me when I’m perfectly content to stay home and not go to whatever function or task I’m supposed to attend.
Almost inevitably, when I push through the dontwannas and get going, something unexpected and sometimes delightful happens that leaves me grateful that I came.
It’s happened so many times that when I realize I’m just not in the mood, I perk up and begin to expect an unexpected delight.
The dontwannas are especially strong at the beginning of the week — Sunday morning church or Monday morning getting back to work.
Don’t wanna get started this Monday to the point maybe you’ll call in a PTO day? Do yourself a favor — get going. You won’t believe what a good day you’re about to have.
