Sometimes it’s heartbreaking to scroll through social media. So many lies are flying around, and not just the usual political lies that have been common for more than a decade now.
In the past week or so I saw that a famous actor is fighting for his life because of some horrible disease. An NFL coach known for his classiness berated the referees and his own team after a disappointing loss. Another famous actor surprised all of his fans when he waded into this week’s controversy with a pointed opinion.
All of them were false. The “dying” actor and his wife are on vacation at some exotic locale. The NFL coach was gracious in defeat, as always. The other famous actor did not comment on current events in any way, shape or form.
You really have to doublecheck anything you see online anymore. Some of the outrageous stuff is actually true, but so much of it is absolute fantasy.
It has always been a healthy thing to check several sources before drawing conclusions, but this is ridiculous.
