One Monday morning a while back, I wrote “Happy New Week!” My thought was about extending the sensation of starting a new year 52 times a year.
After all, you come to the end of a year, think about all that happened during all that time, and resolve to do better. You think about all the things you hope to accomplish during the new year and maybe even write them down and proclaim your New Year’s Resolutions.
In writing “Happy New Week,” I thought, why not do that every week? Think about everything that happened last week, and resolve to do better in the week ahead. Bottle the energy that went into your New Year’s Resolutions, and unleash it at the start of every new week.
Now I come before you with what seems like the obvious next step. Why not start each day that way? Think about everything that happened yesterday and resolve to do better today.
Why wait until Dec. 31 or Jan. 1 to get started on making things better? If it’s worth writing down as a resolution for the new year, it’s worth doing now. Every day is a good day to resolve to do better.
And speaking of now, why wait until tomorrow morning? Why not resolve to do better starting right now, this moment?
Happy New Moment!
